I double checked in Command Prompt to make sure it actually changed, and it did. Question: can I even do this with the Pace router? Even after I found a Pace manual online, I cannot figure out what I need to do in order to recreate the original environment. It came with absolutely no documentation and the local tech guys had no idea how to configure it to work with any router behind it, including my 4300. The 2-wired finally died and ATT replaced it with a Pace device. This way, I was able to keep all the ip addresses in the range of 192.168.1.xxx so I could move my laptop PCs to different parts of the house and still keep the same ip address for them. Since a number of devices on my lan, such as the controller for my solar panels, require that their ip addresses and the ip addresses they talk to do not change, I used the 2-wire feature to permanetly assign a fiexed ip address to each one.
Configured it so tha the 2-wire assigned ip addresses for boh routers. I had a UVerse 2-wire router for a long time with my Netgear WNDR43200 located in another part of my house but directly connected to one of the 2-wire ports. I'm somewhat new to networking so I need some rather basic help.
